My 'No BS' List of Why I Love Being a Wedding Photographer:

Learning your love story from friends + family. I watch shows just for the origin story - hello, Finding Your Roots on PBS. Same goes for your wedding! The simple question of 'how do you know the couple?' lets me learn more about the two of you!

Your Ceremony. I get all mushy and think back to my own wedding!

Your surprise and excitement the first time you hear that you're a wife/husband and you now have a wife/husband.

Mother/Son dance. Gets me every time and I can't help but think what it will be like when my son gets married and I force him to have the same dance with me.

Wedding Dress Twirls. If I had to do it all over again, I would have gotten a twirly dress because it's really pretty in photos and fun to spin around in!

Humming and [slightly] dancing during your reception. Yep, while I don't prefer to dance as a guest at weddings, I have no problem swaying to the music around the perimeter of your dance floor. And who am I kidding, I sing to the songs I really like.

So there you have it, six reasons why I love being a wedding photographer. I kid you not, I've come up with these while photographing weddings and I will keep adding to this list!
