Capturing Every Moment | Baby William's Eight Month Photos

'It goes by so fast' is something you hear over and over when you start your family. And if that's not the understatement of the year...then I don't know what is!

As a mom, I'm blown away with how fast time flies. Even though there are days that never seem to end, six months ago feels like it was yesterday.

The feeling remains when it comes to seeing the families I get to photograph. Baby William was just a baby bump when I first met his parents at their Virginia State Arboretum maternity session. Then the sweetest little peanut at his newborn photos at home. And, in the blink of an eye, he's a handsome eight month old with a little personality.

For William's photo session, we met at a neighborhood park. This space has turned into one of my favorites not only for a quick photo session but for the playground that I've taken my kids to.

As a photo session, I love the grassy area with the tall canopy of spaced out large old trees. That's something hard to come by - either you have thick woods or grassy fields, rarely do you find both. The sun comes through the tree tops and is especially lovely in the morning.

During our session we took the traditional family photos under the trees and walking along the path. However, we spent time catching up that we made our way over to the playground. William had the chance to try out the swings on his mama's lap and that moment was everything for me....I know, I'm just the person taking the pictures.

I mentioned before that I take my kids to that park but the reality is my oldest son and I have spent A LOT of time at any park we can find. He loves to be outside and from a time before he could even walk, he loved being in the swings. Scrolling through my phone photos will reveal that's one of our favorite places to be.

Going through William's photos, it dawned on me just how fast time goes by. My son's the tallest almost three year old I know but from time to time he'll still sit on my lap and swing with me. Just like William got to experience with his mama during our session.

Even more special is that this super simple moment is now a part of their family photos!
