Old Town Warrenton High School Senior Session

Jake is an all-star senior with such a good attitude! The class of 2020 was not dealt a fair hand when the world came to a halt. Missing out on all the capstone moments a senior year has to offer is rough. Jake stunned through through his senior session all while cracking jokes and playing it up for the camera.

Shortly after our session together, I was watching Brene Brown share a portion of her commencement speech for University of Texas Austin on the Today Show. One particular quote hit home for me:

"What starts here changes the world but it will not be on your terms and it will not be on your timeline. The world will not ready itself for our plans." - Brene Brown

That last part especially hit home - "The world will not ready itself for our plans". COVID-19 stopped the Class of 2020 right at the pinnacle of their senior year. Spring brings prom, wrapping up your K-12 educational career, and the excitement for graduation. This spring brought a roller coaster of emotions that stopped everyone in their tracks.

Jake and his peers in the Class of 2020 will start their adult lives off with a strong lesson that no matter what we plan or prep for, things can change on a dime and we must adapt.

In the meantime, we applaud the graduates and all that they have achieved!
