Romantic Summer Engagement Photos in Old Town Alexandria

There’s no arguing that the Washington D.C. area offers so many beautiful spots for photo sessions. One of the best spots for engagement photos in D.C. is Old Town Alexandria. There’s no arguing it and, yes, I am a lot of bit biased because it was home for a couple years.

Dennya and Angel were open to my suggestion of Old Town for their engagement photos. Our evening together started out at Virtue Feed & Grain on Union Street to discuss their upcoming wedding photography. Virtue is always bustling and has such a good vibe, never mind the fact that it’s in a perfect spot in Old Town.

Dennya was looking fabulous and was incredibly smart to do her hair and makeup trial earlier that day. She stunned with her soft blue floral dress that had the perfect amount of flow. Y’all know I LOVE a good flowy dress! Angel complimented his fiancé perfectly with a crisp white button up and jeans.

We started in my favorite alley where the sun was diffused through the tall trees and a warm glow radiated off every surface. They were naturals and even their slightest interactions were tell tale signs of how strong their love is.

From the alley we traveled up the street, stopping in various areas for different backdrops. You cannot go wrong with the historic row houses and all the character they have to offer in Old Town.

Once the sun began to fall behind the buildings, we made our way to the water. Of course, it’s a popular destination within Old Town but the other visitors walking along the water and through the park offers that Old Town Alexandria charm.

The sky offered those warm tones from the golden hour as we wrapped our session. I look forward to sharing their wedding at Springfield Golf & Country Club, later this month.
